In its ninth edition, the International Congress on Technology, Science and Society became an important space for the exchange of ideas and practices among international researchers, functioning as an interdisciplinary forum and as a seed for future collaborative projects. The congress will feature prominent speakers and communications, workshops and seminars given by professors, researchers and specialists from the public and private sectors in three different languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese.

In 2019, the main topic of the congress will be WHEN TECHNOLOGY IS THE PROBLEM: TECHNO-SOCIAL INNOVATIONS TO FAVOR SOCIAL INCLUSION

Today, social life is such that the realization of simple daily tasks forces us to relate to technological devices. But when the characteristics of these devices do not adapt adequately to our functional needs, the relationship becomes problematic. It is affected by the presence of gaps or barriers, of very different typology depending on the characteristics in conflict. Reflecting critically and constructively on such barriers offers us numerous advantages. Perhaps the most remarkable is the possibility of implementing the opportune facilitators that lead to the development of more inclusive technologies.

Delegates may also submit a proposal for a lecture, workshop or poster on the recurring themes of the Congress:

Theme 2: Technology and Society
Theme 3: Science, Technology and Innovation
Theme 4: Science, Technology and Learning

Selected papers will be published on "The International Technology, Science, and Society Review" after a blind peer review process.

The next DEADLINE for submitting a proposal to the Congress (i.e., a title and an abstract) is MARCH 20th, 2019.
